Private Training Policies
This is the “fine print” of private training. Once you’re familiar with our policies, click here for more info on what you need to be ready for your first lesson.
Payment
Each lesson must be paid for at the time of service. Prices are subject to change. Yellow Brick Dogs (YBD) currently accepts cash, check, or card payments. Failure to pay an electronic invoice in a timely manner will result in a late fee.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy: Our goal is to provide quality dog training to all clients in a timely manner. No-shows, late arrivals, and cancellations inconvenience not only us, but our other clients as well. Please be aware of our policy regarding missed appointments. *Appointment Cancellation* When you book your appointment, you are holding a space on our calendar that is no longer available to our other clients. In order to be respectful of your fellow clients, please contact Yellow Brick Dogs as soon as you know you will not be able to make your appointment. If cancellation is necessary, we require that you call or text Lulu at 804-200-3902 at least 24hrs in advance. Appointments are in high demand, and your advanced notice will allow another client access to that appointment time. *Late Cancellations/No-Shows* A cancellation is considered late when the appointment is cancelled less than 24hrs before the appointed time. A no-show is when a client misses an appointment without cancelling. In either case, we reserve the right to charge the client a $25 missed appointment fee. For new clients’ first appointments, a no show or late cancellation will result in a full charge of the new client fee. *If you are more than 10 minutes late for your service, we may not be able to accommodate you. In this case, the same cancellation fee will apply. We will do our very best to reschedule your service for another time that is convenient to you. *In the event of a true, unavoidable emergency, or inclement weather, all or part of your cancellation fee may be waived or applied to future services at our discretion.

Time Overages
Understand that Lulu will likely have another appointment after yours. Please have everything you need on hand at the time of the lesson, including payment, so that we aren’t delayed. Time overages will be charged accordingly. All lessons are generally scheduled as 1 or 2 hours; let Lulu know during scheduling if you would like a longer appointment.
If your dog is sick, has sniffles, a cough, or has fleas, please let me know as soon as possible, so we can reschedule. Your dog should be vaccinated according to your veterinarian’s recommendations and should display their rabies tag if possible
Dog Health
Yellow Brick Dogs makes no guarantees about behavioral changes, resolution of aggression, or the reliability of any dog’s behavior. We provide instruction, advice, and guidance, but you will be doing the day-to-day work with your dog. Therefore, your dog’s progress depends on you. Dogs are living beings with distinct personalities and behavioral histories, which greatly impact outcomes. YBD will give honest feedback on all dogs, but this is to be seen as advice, not a guarantee.
Guarantees
YBD reserves the right to stop seeing clients whose dogs show aggression towards people. Please disclose any aggressive behaviors that your dog may have (growling, snapping, lunging, nipping) prior to registering, and we will be happy to refer you to a behaviorist and/or a trainer who specializes in aggression.
